The Village at Black Creek's Halloween programming (formerly branded "Howling Hootenanny") runs three days total — Oct 24, Oct 25, and again Oct 31 — 11 AM to 4 PM each day, at 1000 Murray Ross Parkway. A witches' lair, an enchanted library, a slimy science show, carnival games and puppet-making, aimed at families with kids roughly 3–12. Costumes are encouraged — no weapons or scary masks — and the event runs rain or shine, with a "School of Monsters" folklore experience alongside the rest. A free costume meetup and vendor market (with Toronto Dog Moms) at Downsview Park's off-leash Dogsview meadow, 1–5 PM. Registration is requested, though everyone is welcome whether or not they own a dog. Show off the costume for treats, then hit the dog park; expect photo-booth stations too. It's the one confirmed free event of the two lead-up weekends. A permanent, year-round party and costume store near Dufferin and Yorkdale. Party City Canada is unaffected by the chain's 2025 US bankruptcy and store closures — the Canadian business has been owned and operated separately by Canadian Tire Corporation since 2019, and this location remains open.
The City's Pumpkin Parade tradition started at Sorauren Park in 2004 and has since grown to more than 45 participating parks across Toronto.
